Sacramento City Council Approves Tiny Homes Project

A proposal by Sacramento mayor Mayor Darrell Steinberg to go big on tiny houses for the homeless has been approved. In the plan, 20 sites across the city were identified as areas where homeless shelters, among them tiny home communities, would be built. The 20 sites will be home to 2,209 people at any given time. The mayor described it as the most aggressive plan in the city’s history, to get rid of homelessness. It is expected to cut it by at least half. “This is the most aggressive plan in the history of the city. No question about it.” he said. The proposal was approved unanimously by city council members, proving that the matter is indeed a shared concern. “Implementation will be the matter of highest urgency and will not require additional actions by the City Council,” Steinberg added.,
